Long Distance Adoption

We seldom do long distance adoptions. For us, this means an adoption to someone who lives more than three hours drive from us. The reason is simple. If, for some reason, the adoption does not work out, we have found adopters reluctant to go to a lot of trouble to return the dog to us. People might drive an hour or two to bring the dog back. When it is much more than that we need to be able to drive to pick up the dog without waiting for the weekend. Hence the three hour drive limit. The exception to this guideline is when you are a previous adopter from DRNT, or when we have someone near you who has agreed to cover for us in an emergency.
